Federal Premium HEVI-Bismuth shells use lead-free bismuth shot with a density of 9.6 g/cc, launched by the FLITECONTROL FLEX wad. This 12-gauge, 2 3/4-inch PHBX144 version drives 1 1/4 oz of No. 4 shot at 1,350 fps. Because bismuth is softer than steel, it can be used in classic and modern shotguns alike, for waterfowl or upland birds.
